Since his debut in 1999, cricketer Yuvraj Singh has been a huge contributor for the Indian cricket. Whatever be his achievement, Yuvi will always be remembered for the six sixes he hit on September 19, 2007 against England in South Africa.
On this memorable day in the World T20, Yuvraj Singh carved his name into the record books by hitting six consecutive sixes off Stuart Broad during the India-England match in the 19th over of the first innings. And as a result he scored his fifty in just 2 over. Hitting six sixes in an over was the first time in T20Is and fourth in the history of the game.
Stuart Broad came to ball the 19th over. The first delivery was a massive six with ball landing outside the stadium. Followed by the second and third. By now, the fans were going crazy. Broad now changed his angle to around the stumps, but all went in vain. Broad went back over the stumps for his fifth delivery; Yuvraj on his knees hauled the ball for the fifth six. And the last ball of the over, Broad delivered a half-volley and Yuvraj smashed the ball making it a record. The score board showed 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6.
India finished the game with a total of 218/5. While England tried coming close to the score with Luke Wright and Kevin Pietersen playing really well. But Team India managed to win the match by 18 runs.
