Mumbai : In view of the Mahashivaratri festival coming up on Monday, the city police have made an elaborate bandobast at all major temples, including the Babulnath temple at Walkeshwar.

This festival is organised in a big way in the city and lakhs of devotees visit these places.

According to Pratap Dighavkar, additional police commissioner (south region), “As part of the security arrangements, we have decided that there will be zero parking at the entry to the Babulnath temple.”  The officer further revealed that there will be around 400 policemen deployed for security this day.

Four types of police teams will be on duty – striking force, combat vehicles, quick response team and policemen in plain clothes, he added. Dighavkar denied that there was any kind of threat perception and said that the security arrangement is a regular exercise.
