New Delhi : In an open defiance of the Modi government promoting economic ties with China, the Swadeshi Jagran Manch, the economic front of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, has called for a national rally at Ramlila Maidan here on October 29 to mobilise the people to boycott the Chinese goods and services in “national interest.”

The government must adopt economic policies favouring domestic industry and farmers instead of promoting import of the Chinese goods,” declared Manch media chief Pradeep Sharma, saying the rally is to urge the people to adopt “Swadeshi” (indigenous) products to make the country prosperous and generate jobs. While boycott of the Chinese goods will be the main thrust of the rally, the RSS affiliate will also use the occasion to criticise the economic policies of the Narendra Modi government that it feels are causing a growth slowdown and job losses. The BMS, the union wing of the RSS, is organising the protest.
