Ujjain: Revenue minister Umashankar Gupta chaired a meeting of the district revenue department at Brahaspathi Bhanvan and directed officials to redress pending cases within a month. He also asked the officials not to work under pressure from any quarter.
He said cases of disputed, undisputed mutation, division and government grasslands should be redressed quickly. He referred the responsibility to the tehsildar and asked him to ensure their fair redressal.
Gupta issued further directives to keep government grasslands up to two per cent in each village. He expressed discontentment over the large number of pending cases in a few tehsils and said concerned officials would face strict actions if cases were not resolved.
Directives were issued over demarcation of government lands, division of revenue records, encroachment, departmental enquiry, pending cases of prosecution, assemblyetc. Collector Sanket Bhondve presented a detailed report of land records to the minister and assured him that all works would be carried out as per his directives.
