Indore : Parking has always been a huge problem in the high traffic zone on Maharani Road. The road gets narrowed due to the illegally parked vehicles by the drivers visiting shops in the vicinity usually ending up in a traffic jam which causes a lot of trouble to the commuters.
Many school buses during the afternoon hours and loading vehicles pass through this road, leading to high traffic in this area. Loading vehicles and auto rickshaw drivers are the main reason behind influencing the traffic of this area. The traffic police are also not seen taking action against the violator on a daily basis.
Mainly the commuters crossing this area in evening are troubled due to the illegally parked vehicles along the roadside. Autorickshaws are also parked along the road side in the same hour when school buses pass through the area causing not only nuisance to the drivers but also chances of accidents are increased.
The huge buses in the crowded area lead to a slow moving traffic which causes hindrance to drivers traveling behind these buses. Local residents believe that if traffic police takes regular action against the violators then this problem can be solved to a larger extent. The road is attached to Siyaganj Market because of which many traders are visiting the area making it a busy road always.
A commuter Bharat Shinde said that he visits the area frequently for purchasing goods and has observed that several times drivers are suffering inconvenience due to the unorganized illegally parked vehicles along the roadside. He added that sometimes the congestion also leads to accidents.
Nirmal Patidar a trader said that atleast once in a week he has to visit the shops on Maharani Road. The loading vehicle drivers park their vehicles along the road side fearlessly obstructing the traffic. School buses also pass through this road and so traffic police should take necessary actions for avoiding any accident.
Vinod Sodani a businessman said that the people visiting the shops must have traffic sense and should avoid parking vehicles illegally. Also the traffic police must take regular action against loading vehicles and autorickshaw drivers who park haphazardly and obstruct the ongoing traffic.
