The holy month of ‘Ramadan‘ has begun and Muslims from all over the world have started fasting. The holy month has also started in Dubai and Emirates airlines is set to provide its customer with Iftar food. To celebrate the month of Ramadan, Emirates has announced that it will give an onboard Iftar service for its passengers who are breaking their fast while they are flying. The iftar boxes are designed in an authentic Arabesque form. The menu will be updated with new dishes during mid-Ramadan.
The iftar boxes provide a nutritious meal for customers to break their fast and includes couscous salad and grilled chicken or moudardara & roasted chicken, sandwiches, spinach fatayer or tomato and onion fatayer, assorted sweets, dates, Laban and water. The special iftar meal will be available on selected flights that will coincide with iftar timings. This includes flights to and from the Gulf region as well as flights catering to Umrah groups travelling to Jeddah and Medina during the month of Ramadan. During the holy month, cold meals will be served in lieu of a hot one on all flights to Jeddah and Medina, including Umrah day flights.
As the tradition goes, the fast is completed in the evening after sunset and the meal is called as Iftar. Meanwhile, the airline has also announced to celebrate the spirit of Eid, it will provide 20 percent discount on onboard free purchases over Dhs95 from June 11 to June 15. From June 14 to June 17, Emirates will also treat their customers with sweets on selected flights.
