Raid Trailer: Ajay Devgn plays Amay Patnaik a no-nonsense IT officer conducting India’s most high-profile raid

The trailer of Ajay Devgn and Ileana D’cruz-starrer thriller movie ‘Raid’ is released. In the trailer, Ajay grabs the attention as rough and tough, no-nonsense Income Tax (IT) officer Amay Patnaik.

In the trailer we can see the struggle of an IT officer that he must go through to conduct a raid on one of the wealthy goons of the city, here Saurabh Shukla. Ajay looks quite rough and tough and his grumpy face proves he won’t take anything for granted. We can see Ajay delivering some power-packed dialogues in a proper UP accent. Ajay leaves no stone unturned to put an end to those who indulge in corruption. And his chemistry with Ileana is beautiful, their relationship as husband-wife can be seen as mature and based on trust and mutual understanding. The film is set on the longest Raid in Luknow in 1981.

And, Saurabh Shukla convincingly looks like a badass villain as Tauji, who is the most powerful man in Lucknow and is involved in corruption and won’t let anyone including Ajay bring him down.

Earlier, Ajay shared film’s poster where he is sitting on a trunk with cash stuffed gunny bags around him. There are also boxes, lots of files and what looked liked heaps of gold bars. The trunk and gunny bags have seals , a mark of government, on them. It looks like a scene from the film where seized wealth and papers are on display.

The film is written by the ‘Pink’ and ‘Airlift’ writer, Ritesh Shah. The film’s shooting has been done in Lucknow and Raebareli. The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on March 16.
