Rahul’s Fight Is Against Rss ‘Ideology’: Congress

New Delhi : The Congress on Thursday asserted that its vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s fight of principle is not against any individual or organisation but against the ideology and the thought process of the forces of hate, dividing the society in the name of religion, castes, region, what one wears and language you speak. Representing Rahul who is currently in his Amethi constituency, Congress spokesman Randeep Singh Surjewala informed the Supreme Court that Congress Vice President was ready to face the trial to prove the RSS ideology’s role in Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination. Rahul was firm on his stand yesterday, remains so today and will remain firm tomorrow and he will keep repeating the historical facts.

Surjewala said Rahul will fight the ideology that divides the society in the Bhiwandi court and also in “Janata ki adalat” (people’s court) as it is against all those who are trying to distort the history (history ko bhatkaana chahte hain).

He then went on the narrate at length the historical facts starting with the ban clamped on the RSS on February 4, 1948 by then home minister Sardar Patel subsequent to the Mahatma’s murder and the letter that Patel wrote to then RSS chief Golwalkar and S P Mookerjee. He also cited a statement of BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj hailing assassin Nathuram Godse as a ‘martyr.’

He said Rahul’s decision is take on the RSS is to fight the communal forces and strengthen the secular forces while giving strength to the secular philosophy of the 131-year old Congress. It is a fight of principles and ideology that are the unifying character of India, he said.

Surjewala said the Congress and its vice-president are fight against the destructive forces trying to polarize India based on their own vision of religion which is neither correct nor appropriate.
