Pune: Engineering student fails, kills himself

Pune: A first-year engineering student from a well-known engineering college in Pune committed suicide as he failed in all subjects in his first year on Friday morning.

According to sources, Kiran Ramkisan Sawant, 20 -years-old, was a student of first year of engineering at Marathwada Mitramandal Institute of Technology. He lived in room no 207 of the college hostel. He hailed from Sonpeth block of Parbhani district and had taken admission for engineering last year.

On Thursday, the college declared the results for the first year and Kiran had failed in all subjects. He was depressed and avoided talking to his friends. Vilas Sonde, police inspector, Vimatal, Pune, said, “His friends found his room shut and broke open the door, after which he was  found hanging from a ceiling fan.”
