Jimmy McGilligan Memorial-2016

Indore : Jimmy McGilligan Centre for Sustainable Development has organised a week-long ‘Jimmy memorial programs on sustainable development’, where various speakers will share knowledge about sustainable development at various venues in the city from April 15.

The program has been organised as a tribute to James (Jimmy) McGilligan, who passed away on April 21, 2011 after suffering a tragic accident. McGilligan worked passionately towards sustainable development in Indian villages by spreading the use of solar energy.

In the week-long program, various speakers including Anita Mantri, Nanda Chouhan, Cherry Kapale, Prem Joshi, Deepak Gadhia, Ghanshyam Lukhi, Ajay Chandak, Rajendra Chouhan and Janak McGilligan Palta will conduct solar technology training seminars.

Students of Mata Gujri College of Professional Studies, Govindram Seksaria Institute of Management and Research (GSIMR) and Medicaps group of colleges will be attending the training on solar technologies and its applications. A lecture on ‘Managing Green Business’ will be organised at GSMIR on April 21, where Ghanshyam Lukhi will share his insight to help students understand management of business with green technology.

Discussing sustainable development with utilisation of biogas, Palta will demonstrate the procedure of establishing a biogas plant at Ahila Mata Gaushala on April 19.
