President Pranab Mukherjee condoles death of Thai King

New Delhi, President Pranab Mukherjee on Friday condoled the death of Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

“Heartfelt condolences on the sad demise of his majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand,” Mukherjee said in a tweet.

“People of India share the sorrow and grief of the people of Thailand,” he added.

The Thai King, the world’s longest-reigning monarch, died on Thursday in Bangkok at the age of 88.

He ruled the kingdom for seven decades and was revered by the Thai public as a semi-divine figure.
