Diggy to kick start ‘BJP Bhagao Rally’ from August 26
Indore : National general secretary of All India Congress Committee, Digvijaya Singh targeted his canons on the state government, as he raised the issue of rehabilitation of Sardar Sarovar Dam oustees in Nisarpur.
During his visit to the city on Saturday, Singh said that more than 16,000 families have not been rehabilitated and resettled yet in Nisarpur, with the date of closure of dam gates is scheduled for July 31. He said that many of the families are yet to receive any compensation and it will create havoc if the gates were closed in this monsson.
“State government has failed in rehabilitation and resettlement of the oustees. Union government should increase the time for closing the gates of the dam. Shivraj Singh Chauhan didn’t meet the oustees yet, but he is fooling people with his Narmada Sewa Yatra,” Singh said, adding that the yatra was just a show off.
Talking about his campaign against the state government, Singh said that he will take out ‘BJP Bhagao Rally’ from August 26 and will also do a ‘Narmada parikrama’, which will be purely personal. “I will not give any political comment or participate in any political event during the visit,” he clarified.
The former chief minister of the state also criticised the implementation of GST and said “GST is a failure in all the countries, which applied it with multiple slabs. GST will prove to be a plus for the officials and big fishes and a curse for small traders. The tax on clothes has also been imposed to end the business of small traders and to provide profit to big branded companies.”
Commenting on the chaotic scenario in Gujarat and Bihar’s politics, he said that “BJP is buying MLAs in Gujarat and contaminating politics.”
