New Delhi : With the Election Commission yet to declare the Gujarat Assembly election date, senior Congress leader and former finance minister P Chidambaram taunted that Prime Minister Modi will announce the date at his last rally in the state.
Congress has already insinuated the EC of colluding with the government, suggesting its delay in announcing the Gujarat poll schedule is meant to give the Centre more time to offer sops before the code of conduct kicks in.
“The EC will be recalled from its extended holiday after Gujarat government has announced all concessions and freebies,” Chidambaram said.
