Allege reluctance of the VC in addressing students’ grievances

Ujjain : The National Students Union of India (NSUI) activists burnt the effigy of Vikram University (VU) vice chancellor (VC), professor Sheel Sindhu Pandey, here on Friday, alleging his indifference towards addressing the grievances of students.

Led by state NSUI general secretary Pritesh Sharma, a number of activists reached the VU’s headquarters at Madhav Bhavan and started raising slogans against the varsity administration. After burning the VC’s effigy, they handed over a memorandum to the registrar Dr SC Arya.

NSUI president Amber Mathur said that the effigies of VC were burnt across the campus of VU, simultaneously. He informed that the future of hundreds of students has been hanging in balance as special examinations were not being conducted for the fifth and sixth semester students having ATKT. Identical was the case of students of 3rd and 4th semesters, he added.
