Patna : RJD president Lalu Prasad, who is scheduled to surrender before the court at Ranchi on Thursday following an order of the Jharkhand High Court, condemned the arrests of human right activists on Tuesday.
He was speaking to reporters for the first time in last three months since he was sanctioned provisional bail for treatment in Mumbai. While granting bail, court had asked him not to speak to media.
Lalu said the police claimed they had been arrested for attempts to plan murder of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Our prime minister is not a coward persons”. The police must inform the court and people about the specific charges against those arrested.
“Narendra Modi is pushing the country towards Emergency. The opposition leaders are being targeted and implicated in false cases and sent to jail. There is a game plan to jail the non- BJP leaders before (the Lok Sabha) election,” he told reporters.
He alleged he and his family was being victimised by the BJP and the union government is misusing CBI and ED against him.
