Netflix could soon start showing advertisements in between episodes. The company confirmed that they have started testing advertisements but it is not confirmed whether Netflix will implement it officially in the future.
On Reddit a Netflix user posted that an unskippable ad was shown while he was watching an American TV series ‘Better Call Saul’. But there’s a way to opt out of this. Netflix is showing advertisement only to few subscribers but all users can go and select opt out of seeing ads.
Here’s how a Netflix subscriber can opt out of Netflix test ads
Open Netflix in your desktop, tablet or smartphone.
Tap on your profile icon and click on ‘Account’ option.
Under the Settings menu choose ‘Test participation’.
There will be an option to toggle on/off for any tests conducted by Netflix.
When you toggling it off, it will prevent any advertisement from showing up on Netflix.
This will only work till the ‘advertisement’ is on test stages. If Netflix officially adds advertisement for its video streaming platform, this feature will not work. It isn’t known though if Netflix will introduce any option to opt out of ads or skip them. However, the Reddit post said that the ad couldn’t be skipped.
Because of Netflix’s new news, people started tweeting their emotions of seeing advertisement on a service they have to pay for.
