Ujjain: Nagda consumer forum court has issued order against Western Railway general manager, Mumbai, divisional manager, Ratlam and other officials concerned to pay a fine of Rs 7,000 to a couple on the charges of showing negligence by the railway department.

Consumer forum has also ordered the railway to pay Rs 630 also which the couple had paid to the railway as a fine.

Consumer forum has said in its order that if during two months’ period, railway did not pay Rs 7630 to the couple, then the railway has to pay seven per cent interest to the couple.

The consumer forum court has given this decision on the case filed by couple Ramdulare, son of Motilal, resident of Dugrapura, Birlagram ,Nagda and Punam, wife of Ramdulare. The case had been filed against Western Railway general manager, Church Gate, Mumbai, DRM Ratlam, chief reservation observer, Nagda and reservation clerk, Nagda.

According to sources, when the victim couple had done the reservation from Bhopal to Nagda, the reservation clerk had issued the ticket on the date of October 29, 2015 in place of November 29, 2015. The victims had submitted the reservation demand-letter at Nagda reservation counter. Ramdulare had deposited the copy of reservation demand-letter to consumer forum court.

Ramdulare had taken his reservation demand-letter’s copy from railway under the rite to information and presented the copy before the court. The railway reservation clerk had issued a wrong ticket to Ramdularre.

Meanwhile, Ramdulare and his wife travelled in Habibganj-Bhopal train no 59394 and the ticket checker asked them to show tickets, and when the ticket checker found that the ticket was of wrong date, he imposed the fine of Rs 630 on Ramdulare and his wife and insulted both of them in front of other fellow passengers in train.

Harassed by this, Ramdulare had decided to file the case in consumer forum court to get justice.
