Mumbai: Two labourers fall down from 10th floor, die

Mumbai: Two labourers died after they accidentally fell off from the tenth floor of an under construction site at Chembur on Friday morning. The labourers were fitting the windows when they accidentally slipped, fell and died on the spot. The incident occurred on Friday morning at 8:30 am at Shabri Park building, Maitri ark opposite RK Studio at Sion-Trombay road. Ahmed Shahadat Shaikh (32) and Rajendra Battilal Kaul (45) fell off from the tenth floor after they lost their balance from the bamboo scaffold while they were fitting the window panes.

They were rushed to Rajawadi Hospital at Ghatkopar where they were declared dead on admission.  Shashikant Mane, senior police inspector, Govandi police said, “There was no safety net installed at the building. We are investigating if the labourers were equipped with proper safety gear.” The police have registered an Accidental Death Record (ADR) in this matter. Shaikh is a native of Uttar Pradesh while Kaul is a native of Jammu and Kashmir.
