Mumbai: Thieves held after breaking into temple in Kashimira and decamping with money from donation box

Bhayandar: Two petty thieves were caught a few hours after they had broken into a temple in Kashimira and decamped with the money pooled in the donation box. The miscreants, identified as Dinusaheb Mulla alias Asif ( 23) and Rabibul Nasir Mulla (20), along with one of their accomplices had broken into the Hatkesh Mahadev Temple in Kashimira and decamped with the money that was collected in the temples donation box during the wee hours on Monday.

After getting information about the break-in, the police intensified vigil in and around the region. On Tuesday night the beat marshals stopped two bike-borne persons who were carrying a suspiciously looking gunny bag. Upon checking the bag, the police found that it contained a huge amount of coins with some currency notes. Unable to explain its source, the duo were taken to the police station. After sustained interrogation the duo confessed to the crime. The bag contained Rs 13,910 – mostly coins.
