Mumbai: Student kills self for failing by 4 marks in HSC exams

Mumbai: A Class 12 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) student Dipti More, 18, committed suicide on Tuesday afternoon after checking her results. She committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling fan at her residence as she failed in her examinations.

A resident of Panchasheel nagar near Pratiksha nagar at Sion, More was out on a vacation to her native place along with her family. She returned to Mumbai to check her results on Tuesday. More failed in two subjects by four marks. She committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling fan on Tuesday afternoon when her father was away.

More also left a suicide note saying she was hurt due to the failure and “could not bear this setback.” The case was registered at Wadala Truck Terminal (TT) police station.

Sushil Kamble, senior police inspector, said, “We have found a suicide note where More mentioned that she could not bear the loss and, also, apologised to her parents for her poor performance. When we reached her residence we found that her door was locked from inside and her father was out for work.”

More was a student of Siddharth College and had scored 85% in her Class 10 examinations. The Wadala TT police have registered ADR (Accidental Death Report) in the matter and are investigating the case.
