On Saturday, a businessman from South Mumbai was robbed of diamonds worth Rs 10 lakh. The incident occurred when the man was getting off his car to pick up Rs 510 that a gang of four told him was lying on road.
According to a report in Indian Express, on Saturday, a gang of four allegedly approached the businessman, asking whether the money fallen outside his car belonged to him. As he stepped out, a gang member opened the rear door and fled with his bag.
The South-Mumbai based businessman in this robbery lost diamonds worth Rs 10 lakh. Apparently, at first, the gang of four approached the man when he was seated in his car. And told him to check whether the fallen Rs 510 were his or no, the businessman got down of his car to pick up the cash. After picking up Rs 510, he got back in his car, and he realised that his bag which had diamonds worth Rs 10 lakh was gone. Then he approached the DB Marg police station and registered a complaint against unknown persons.
“The four threw notes of Rs 10 and Rs 20 totalling Rs 510 outside his car and asked him whether it was his money. They approached the car owner and surrounded his car. The victim saw the money and got off to check. Meanwhile, one of the gang members opened the rear door of the car and fled with his bag,” an officer from DB Marg Police station told Indian Express.
A similar incident took place at Samta Nagar, where a businessman from Borivali was robbed of Rs 2.5 lakh and a licensed gun on Friday. In this incident, the victim was seated in his car along with his driver when a gang approached them. And asked them whether their money had fallen outside the car. The businessman and his driver got out of the car to check, and the gang fled away with the bag containing cash and a gun.
