Mumbai records 52.17% voter’s turnout till 6.15 p.m

There are 227 seats for Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai and many people turnout to cast their votes; this is the highest polling in last 3 BMC elections. Major parties like Shiv Sena, BJP, Congress and NCP are looking at these elections with an eye on the next big one, the 2019 assembly polls. Parties such as MNS is fighting for its existing have also some major hope in this election, another party AIMIM which is trying to spread its leg is also hoping for the best

6.15pm: Mumbai recorded a voter turnout of 52.17%, Thane: 53.11%, Ulhasnagar: 46.83%, Pune 49.52%, Pimpri-Chinchwad: 51.86%, Nashik 52.63%, Nagpur 49.95%, Solapur 44%, Amravati 51.62%, Akola 42.39%, according to preliminary figures released by the state election commission.
