Mumbai: Police custody of physiotherapist’s killer extended

Mumbai: The police custody of Debashish Dhara, the killer of Vileparle’s physiotherapist, has been extended till February 8, as the investigators sought for Dhara’s police custody to recover his mobile SIM card and ‘hairbrush’ which was inserted in her private parts.

The counsel for Dhara, MD Mali, expressed strong objection in Andheri court on Saturday and said, “To the best of my knowledge Dhara never switched off his mobile phone and he was carrying his mobile phone when Mumbai police arrested him from West Mednipore district of West Bengal on January 29.”

According to the police Dhara has confessed to his crime but Mali told the magistrate that he has admitted to his guilt under the pressure of his investigators during police custody.

“Police have not collected any strong and concrete evidence against Dhara. The CCTV footage is not in favour of police as nowhere in the footage Dhara is seen entering and exiting from the mezzanine floor of physiotherapist,” Mali told the Free Press Journal.
