Mumbai: The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) Chairman and Shiv Sena legislator Uday Samant has complained to the Maharashtra State Police of the threats calls he has received from errant and unknown builders since last few days. Samant in a letter to the Maharashtra Police has claimed, ever since he took the responsibility of MHADA and initiated somce stringent action against few fraudulent builders in the last three months, he has sensed to be in danger. “I had directed the MHADA vigilance department to keep a watch on fraudsters who usually lure people in exchange of some money.
The miscreants who are unhappy with this decision are finding it difficult to operate. Meanwhile, this decision has helped in changing the image of MHADA and has gained the trust of homebuyers,” Samant’s letter reads. He further states, “Unhappy with this move, now the errant builders and mafias are threatening me for my life. I also told the CM Fadnavis to tighten the security, but so far no move has been taken in this regard. Therefore, if at all anything happens to me, I will hold the administration responsible.
