Good news for students who failed to secure seats during previous rounds of FYJC admissions, as FCFS (first come, first served) rounds to begin from August 25. The list of vacant seats in colleges will be released across Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) by the state education department, according to a Hindustan Times report.
The report further said students scoring 80% and above can pick from the vacant seats on August 27 followed by those scoring 60% and above on August 29 and those who have scored 35% and above can try to secure seats on August 31.
The students who are eligible for FCFS rounds are students who cancelled admissions owing to various reasons and those who did not confirm admission even after being allotted the college of their first preference. Mihika Seth from Goregaon told the leading daily, “My daughter scored 81%, but hasn’t secured admission yet. She missed her preferred college by 1% percent and now we have no option but to wait for the FCFS round.”
