Mumbai : Mumbai FC have appointed Spaniard Óscar Bruzón as the Head Coach for the remainder of the I-League 2016-17 season. Bruzón takes charge after coach Santosh Kashyap and Mumbai FC parted ways early this month.
Born in Vigo, Spain, the 39-year-old Bruzón an UEFA ‘A’ level pro license holder comes with tremendous coaching experience at the highest level. Before accepting the Mumbai FC job, he was acting as an assistant manager to Fernando Vazquez at RCD Mallorca in Spain’s Segunda (Second) Division. The Spaniard has previous experience of working in India and in the I-League after working with Sporting Club de Goa and helped the Goan club to 6th and 5th places finishes in 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons respectively, and in the Federation Cup where Sporting reached the final in 2013-14.
