Mumbai Crime: Man arrested for raping 13-year-old daughter for months

On Thursday, police arrested 38-year-old man for allegedly raping his 13-year-old daughter for few months. The Shahu Nagar Police are also on a lookout for the brother of the accused who is also suspected of raping her.

According to DNA, the accused is a resident of Mahim east and was frequently raping his daughter along with his brother. The mother of the victim has alleged that on the day of the incident she caught her husband red-handed while he was attempting to rape the girl who was crying for help. After which she along with her neighbours went to police station to lodge a complaint.

Recently the victim’s mother had noticed that girl wanted to tell her something but out of fear of her father’s anger kept quite. Even the victim’s neighbours had sensed something suspicious. The girl’s father was unemployed for years and had recently started driving auto-rickshaw for his livelihood. The victim’s mother once tried to confront him but he threatened to divorce her if she shares the details of the incident with anyone.

The cops have booked the accused under section 376 and 506 of the IPC and section 4,6,8,10 and 12 of the POCSO Act. The brother of the accused is still absconding and the victim has been sent to Sion hospital for medical examination.
