Charkop police arrested a 33-year-old man for allegedly molesting a 40-year-old woman. The man, who was stalking the woman, who was on her walk, stopped her, pulled her pants and molested her on New Link Road, in Kandivli (West).

According to Hindustan Times, the incident took place on Tuesday around 10 pm, when the woman had gone out of her Borivli (West) residence for a walk and was headed towards Malad. The accused was identified as Ramraj Pawar (33). During the time of the incident, Pawar was on his scooter and was staring at the woman. Later, he got off the scooter and started following the victim. Then, he sneaked behind the woman and pulled her pants. The woman got shocked and asked him what he was doing.

But, Pawar didn’t stop there. He came in front of her and started touching her inappropriately, after which the woman screamed for help and people rushed to her aid. When people arrived and tried to catch Pawar, he started beating up people and ran away. A bystander immediately called the police, who then rushed to the spot. Later, the police nabbed Pawar and arrested him. The Charkop police registered an FIR against Pawar, a resident of Malwani, under section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code. Pawar was produced in court and has been sent to judicial custody.
