Mumbai Crime: 16-year-old boy strangles sister to death for disturbing his sleep

On Monday, the Waliv Police arrested a 16-year-old boy for allegedly strangling his 19-year-old sister to death in Vasai (east). The boy strangled his sister to death after he got angry on her for disturbing his sleep.

According to Hindustan Times, on Monday afternoon, their mother, who works as a domestic help in Borivli, had gone for her work. The girl used to talk to her friend after her mother left for work in the afternoon and late night, which annoyed the boy a lot. Inspector Bharat Jadhav from Waliv police station told the leading daily, “Her long conversations annoyed the boy as it would disturb his sleep. The two would argue over it, often. On Monday afternoon, the boy strangled his sister to death in a fit of rage after her conversation disturbed his sleep. He then called four of his friends to help him dispose of the body.”

After the argument, a neighbour decided to check what the commotion was about, and when she peeped in through the window she saw the girl’s body lying on the bed, after which she immediately informed the police. Later, Waliv police reached the spot, arrested the boy, and booked him under Sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing the disappearance of evidence of offence) of the IPC. The boy was produced in court and later sent to remand home in Bhiwandi.
