Mumbai: Court sentences two physically challenged men to life imprisonment, for murdering woman four years ago

On Monday, the sessions court sentenced two physically challenged men to life imprisonment, a four-year-old case murder case of 58-year-old Bandra resident. According to a report in Hindustan Times, the two convicts who are speech and hearing disability, Sarfaraj Bhavnagiri and Parvez Khan both are in their thirties, on On June 11, 2013, killed Nalini Chainani resident of Bandra’sMadhuban Society. On the day of the incident the woman’s husband Sunil, who returned home from his workplace at Navi Mumbai and found her dead. It was found that the two men ran away with valuables worth Rs 5.85 lakh. Apparently, the two accused were known to the family as Bhavnagari was a friend of the couple’s son.

The accused during interrogation had said that they had been planning the robbery for 15 days. In the entire incident, there were no eyewitnesses, but the evidence given by the watchman helped. The prosecution connected the dots and proved that it was the two who could have killed Nalini. The police have also recovered the stolen valuables worth Rs.4.5 lakh from the accused. During the hearing of the case, the prosecution said the conspiracy was hatched by Bhavnagiri and Khan assisted him in his plan. Parvez Khan’s family has told that he was offered the job to commit this crime from Dubai, reported the leading daily.
