Mumbai: Three minor girls have gone missing from Shraddhanand Anath Mahilashram in Matunga on Monday. The caretakers approached Matunga police and has registered a case of kidnapping against unknown persons. On Monday, around 6 pm, three girls aged between 12-15 years, who were staying at the women’s shelter in Matunga, had gone out to play.
The girls were last seen playing on the ground outside the shelter, before disappearing over two hours later. When the caretakers of the women’s shelter did not find the girls after scouring all over the place, they approached Matunga police to register a case of kidnapping.
A source close to the women’s shelter said the caretakers are feared the girls ran away from the shelter home as they were acting rebellious since last few days. However, the management rebuffed any such allegations. Bharat Bhoite, senior police inspector of Matunga police station, said CCTV cameras are being checked to track the movements of the girls.
