Mumbai: 3 history-sheeters held for chain-snatching in Bhandup

Mumbai: Three history-sheeters were arrested by the Navghar police on Monday for chain snatching. According to police, Jameer Bashir Shaikh alias Jammu, 51, Sameer Siraj Sayyed, 26, and Mohammed Faiyyaz Irani, 28, were arrested for robbery (Section 392) and common intention (Section 34) of the Indian Penal Code.

Police teams were dispatched to Ambivli, Mumbra and Bhiwandi, to get hold of the wanted accused. After Jameer was released on bail on November 2, he was wanted by Vile Parle and Naupada Police in chain-snatching cases. The accused were arrested from Bhandup. A senior police official said, “A mangalsutra worth `40,000 has been recovered. A bike which was used for the crime has also been seized from Jameer.”
