On Friday, a 22-year-old-man allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of the train. The man jumped in front of a CST-bound train between Vitthalwadi and Kalyan stations. According to Mumbai Mirror, the man was identified as Rajesh Bhandari (22), and before committing suicide he made a video blaming a girl for his decision and showed her in the video. The victim before committing suicide shared his mobile password with his friend so that others could see the video.
Dinkar Pingle, senior police inspector of Kalyan Government Railway Police, told the leading daily, “We filed an accidental death report immediately after the incident. We have now found a video in which Bhandari is seen blaming a girl for his decision to commit suicide. Even though he didn’t name the girl, she is seen trying to hide behind him at Vitthalwadi station. The video also shows Bhandari saying that he has shared his mobile password with his friend Rahul so that the video could reach other people.”
The police have said that after recording the video Rajesh Bhandari, for a few minutes, walked around Vitthalwadi station and jumped off in front of an oncoming train. Rajesh worked as a contractual employee with the railways. He stayed with his mother and elder brother and was resident of R S colony in Mohane.
Dinkar Pingle told leading daily that, “We are in the process of recording statements. Before deciding on the further course of action, we are speaking to the victim’s friends and those who know the girl. We want to investigate if there are reasons to book her for abetment of suicide. Even if she simply stopped talking to him, it can amount to abetment.”
