The deadline for filing Income Tax returns (ITR) is ending on July 31 and everyone is hurrying up to file their ITR as soon as possible. Meanwhile, as per a report in Indian Express, former Indian skipper MS Dhoni has emerged as the highest tax payer in his hometown Jharkhand by paying tax of Rs 12.17 crore. According to a report in Prabhat Khabar, Dhoni has also declared advance tax of Rs 3 crore for the next financial year. Meanwhile, chief income tax commissioner V Mahalingam has said that Dhoni had paid IT of Rs 10.93 crore in the 2016-17 financial year. However, back then he was not the biggest taxpayer from the state.
On the work front, Dhoni is currently enjoying his free time. MSD last accompanied his team for the England tour for 3 ODIs and T20Is. Seeing his performance at the tour, Dhoni’s future remains a point of concern as he did not have the best time in England. His slow run-making didn’t please his fans in the 2nd and 3rd ODI, which India went on to lose. Following the 3rd ODI, Dhoni’s act of taking the ball from the umpires raised many questions among fans of his retirement. However, coach Ravi Shastri put those discussions and rumours to bed. “MS wanted to show the ball to Bharat Arun. He wanted to show him the wear and tear the ball had endured, to get a general idea of what the conditions were like. That’s rubbish. MS is not going anywhere,” he said.
To note, during the England tour, Dhoni became the latest cricketer cross 10,000 ODI runs. He also became the third fastest Indian to join the league after Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly.
