MP Malviya proposes superfast train between Indore-Delhi via Ujjain

Ujjain: Member of Parliament Chintamani Malviya attended a meeting conducted by Western Railway (WR) in Indore on Friday. Here Malviya asked current status of many projects concerning Ujjain to general manager of WR and also proposed a new project. Around Rs 1000 crore railway related construction works will begin within a month in Ujjain region, Malviya informed in a press statement released on Friday.

Major works include Rs 245 crore Ujjain-Fatehabad Chandrawatiganj rail line gauge changing project, doubling of Ujjain-Dewas-Indore rail route and the new rail bridge to be built between Ujjain and Nagda over Gambhir dam. Malviya proposed a new superfast train between Indore and Delhi via Ujjain that would cut down travelling time to 10 hours. Soon a detailed project report will be submitted to the department.

Current status of other projects were also discussed including Ujjain-Jhalawar railway track via Susner, new railway track between Alot-Taal and Jaora, Jabalpur Bandra holiday express’ daily run instead of once a week, bogies to be added in Indore-Sarairohilla express train along with three tier air conditioned sleeper coaches, escalator and air conditioned waiting rooms at Ujjain station as its has been declared model station, three escalators for Nagda station, run of Indore-Amritsar train via Ujjain for which railway minister of states Manoj Sinha already gave his assent and all week run of Ambedkar Nagar-Indore-Rewa night time express train with addition of more sleeper coaches and 3-tier AC coaches.
