Mela wears a deserted look as it nears end

Ujjain : Humongous pandals of sadhus and saints along with makeshift zone and sector offices are being uprooted gradually by the labourers in the Simhastha fair area with the conclusion of month long Simhastha Mela.

As collector Kavindra Kiyawat had issued an order of maintaining all essential arrangements in the mela area till May 28,2016, most of the government staffers are still rendering their services in the deserted mela area.

Zonal magistrate of Mangalnath zone, Narendra Suryawanshi informed Free Press that employees of 5 core departments including police, Ujjain municipal corporation, public works department, revenue and public health engineering will continue to render services till May 28, 2016. And employees of other departments like health, veterinary and education who were deployed on Simhastha duty have packed their bags, added Suryawanshi.
