Mumbai: After Ganpati festival, commuters on all the three railways will have to remake their Sunday plans around the mega blocks and night block announced. To carry out the maintenance work, the Central Railway (CR) has planned an infrastructure block and five-hour block on Harbour line on Sunday. Due to this block, suburban trains are likely to be more crowded than usual.
Central Railway will operate infrastructure upgrade block for cut and connection of existing down slow line with the new down slow line between Kalva and Mumbra stations for 5th and 6th line between Thane and Diva stations from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm on Sunday. Sunil Udasi, Chief Public Relation Officer, CR said, “Down slow line services leaving Mulund from 8.22 am to 5.12 pm will be diverted on down fast line at Mulund and re-diverted on down slow line at Diva, skipping halt at Kalva and Mumbra.
Down semi fast services leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus from 9.18 am to 5 pm will run on down fast line up to Diva and diverted on down slow line at Diva skipping halt at Kalva and Mumbra stations accordingly.” Passengers of Kalva and Mumbra stations are permitted to travel via Thane/Diva stations during block period, Udasi added.
Further, down fast/semi fast line services leaving CST from 8.47am to 4.45pm will halt at Kurla, Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup, Mulund and Diva stations in addition to their scheduled halts and will run 20 minutes late.
