Markets of the city got decked up with attractive lighting and barrage of banners declaring lucrative consumer offers by shopkeepers and dealers for Dhanteras as the festival of Deepawali is getting nearer. Electronics, cloth markets, jewellery shops, shops of decorative items were seen crowded with ecstatic customers. Patni Bazar, Sarafa, Naipeth, Lakherwadi, Kamari Marg, Free Ganj, Cosmos mall and other markets were seen decorated with colorful lighting.

According to jewellers the likes of consumers have been changed, earlier only traditional jewelleries were in demand but now consumers are asking for fashionable jewelleries also. Automobile markets were also seen crowded on Sunday. According to businessmen in electronic segment there is a rise of 30 percent in demand as compared to previous year. LED TV sets and washing machine much demanded items while in readymade cloth segment jeans and ethnic, and traditional outfits are in demand.

Administration gets alert
Administration in poll bound city got alert to deal with any untoward incident. Security to maintain peace and harmony was beefed up. Ujjain Municipal Corporation alerted its fire division to make ready fire brigades with fire fighter to tackle any incident of fire in the city during the festive time.

Diwali preparations in full swing
Women have started preparations for Diwali and are busy in making delicious traditional dishes of sweets and namkeens like sev and chakali. Leading shops of sweets and namkeens in the city are also being seen crowded with the customers.
