Ujjain: Krishi Upaj Mandi will be opened at 11 am on Wednesday and payments will be done through cheques and RTGS to the farmers. This was decided in the meeting held at mandi office in the presence of collector Sanket Bhondve, mandi president, board and traders union, on Tuesday evening.
Mandi traders also agreed to hike the security amount on the recommendation of the mandi board. Bhondve directed mandi secretary to purchase the crops of small and marginal farmers with priority. It was also decided that the farmers will be paid through RTGS and they will have to bring their passbooks. All the traders were strictly warned that they would face actions if their cheques get bounced.
Collector directed LDM that two business correspondences of IDBI, Yes Bank, ICICI, HDFC and Kotak Bank will be present at the mandi. Traders demanded that the farmers should be provided banking facility on the premises. Mandi president Bahadur Singh Bormundla, joint director KN Tripathi, vice president Sheru Patel and others were present.
