Mumbai: A 48-year-old man was stabbed to death near Orlem Church in Malad late evening on Thursday by at least four unknown persons. The victim has been identified as Jairam Nader, who is said to be a history-sheeter.
“The incident took place at Valnai area at about 10.30 hrs. It is suspected that there is involvement of 3 to 4 assailants who assaulted the victim with sharp weapons multiple times. The victim has been identified as Jairam Nader, who sustained serious injuries and later succumbed to death,” said Senior PI of Malad police station, Sudhir Mahadik.
Sources reveal that the deceased had some dispute with one local resident related to property. Nader’s 20-year-old son Dinesh received a call later Thursday evening that his father’s body has been lying near Orlem Church in the pool of blood. He immediately rushed to the crime venue and took his father to nearby Kandivli’s Shatabdi hospital where he was declared brought dead.
The autopsy report is awaited and no arrest has been made so far.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered against unknown assailants at Malad police station under section 302 and the investigation is on.
