Mumbai: The education of Maharashtra State Transport Corporation (MSRTC) employees like driver, assistants, the conductor would not go waste as they soon would be eligible for a promotion for the posts of clerks or typists. According to a decision by the State Transport Minister Diwakar Raote, the class IV employees will get 25 per cent reservation for the posts of clerk-typists. The move comes after Raote learnt the education of ST employees like a driver, assistants, the conductor was going waste, as a result of which they were not getting promotions.
The announcement was made on the occasion Mahaparinirvan Divas of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, by Diwakar. Around one lakh class IV employees of the MSRTC would be benefited by the decision taken by Raote. “This decision will benefit the employees who are eligible for the promotion. They will also be eligible in getting promoted to Mahamandal of MSRTC,” said Raote.
