Maharashtra: Mother held for killing two toddlers in Beed over tiff with her husband

AURANGABAD: A young, 23-year-old woman, Deepali Radheshyam Amte, killed her two toddler girls in Beed, by drowning them in a water tank. One was a 3-year-old and the other, a four-month-old baby, while the eldest daughter who was at her maternal grandparents home, survived the tragedy. This incident occurred in Narsoba nagar of Beed on Tuesday morning.

The father, Radheshyam was suspicious of his wife’s character and fought with her over three daughters. All the family members were away on Monday and Radheshyam too had taken out his auto. On his return that night, Radheshyam did not see his wife and children. He then took his auto out in search of them, but could not find them.

Finally he lodged a complaint at Shivaji nagar police station. In the morning when Radheshyam went to wash his face, he went to the water tank to draw some water and saw the his daughters floating in it. Radheshyam informed the police and they came to arrest Deepali, who is taken in police custody.
