Maharashtra: ATS arrests Shrikant Pangarkar from Jalna in alleged connection with terror activity

Mumbai: On Sunday evening, the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested a 40-year-old identified as Shrikant Pangarkar from Jalna. The ATS officials have booked the accused under relevant sections of the Explosive Substances Act, the IPC and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

According to police sources, the arrest was made in connection with the recent swoop down on three right wing activists — Vaibhav Raut, Sharad Kalaskar and Sudanva Gondhalekar – who are accused of engaging in terror activity. Sunday’s arrest was made after the ATS got specific input from the arrested trio; it is understood that explosives were found in Shrikant’s house at Jalna. The police said the accused will be produced before court on Monday.
