BHOPAL : Bhopal Municipal Corporation, Mayor, Alok Sharma on Monday inaugurated ‘Mahapaur Express’ here. MP Alok Sanjar, Higher Education Minister Umashankar Gupta, MiC President Dr Surjeet Singh Chauhan and BMC Commissioner Tejaswi Naik were present on the occasion. MiC members were also present.

Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has launched a new facility of providing services of carpenter, electrician, plumber on a telephone call of citizens. The ‘Janseva Kendra’ will be contacted on phone number 0755-2701555 between 6am and 7pm. Rs 200 would be charged on first visit of carpenter/electrician/plumber whereas Rs 100 would be charged on second visit.

Minister Umashankar Gupta appreciating the move said it is emulating initiative and plan to launch it across the state is being prepared. He said this facility should be started in every zone and ward.

Mayor Alok Sharma said the government is committed to provide employment opportunities. An agreement with government ITIs has been done and the pass outs will be put on internship in BMC.

He said there is a dress code for the trained manpower and they would also be given identity cards. Sharma said the BMC is also soon going to launch a ‘Mobile Court’ to ensure no encroachment and action on those who do encroachment.

MP Alok Sanjar appreciated Mayor Sharma’s initiative to start this facility. MiC President Surjeet Singh Chauhan said the resolution taken by the MiC a year ago has seen the light of day today.
