Former Team India opener Gautam Gambhir has come a long way since his debut in 2003. From his role in India winning the 50-over World Cup to his retirement in 2018. Gambhir is a rare talent to find in cricket arena. The left-handed batsman announced his retirement from all forms of cricket this week and played his last game for his home team Delhi in Ranji Trophy and made 112. Getting him out wasn’t an easy task for any bowler, his performance in the 2011 World Cup was a proof. However, he was bowled out by a girl, Natasha Jain, with whom he tied the knot in 2011.
Jab Gautam-Natasha Met
Gambhir was star of Team India and one of the most eligible bachelors who waiting to meet his ‘Right Girl’. And that happened when he met his father’s friend, a Gurgaon-based businessman named Ravindra Jain’s daughter, Natasha. Gambhir’s father, while doing their textile business, developed friendly relations with Ravindra Jain and their families were quite close to each other. After a few meetings, they fell for each other and decided to take their relationship to the next level.
As per the reports, Gautam and Natasha started dating in 2007 but kept it secret. In 2010, the two shared the news of them wanted to getting married to their parents who happily agreed, and the two got engaged. It was only then that the media got to know about Gautam’s three-year-long relationship. Then the couple decided to tie the knot, but Gautam kept a ‘condition’.
Condition and Marriage
The stage was set for the biggest day of cricket, the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011′, which was held in India. It was one of the most memorable days for the country as it was trying to end 28-year long wait of winning the World Cup. As the two, got approval of their parents, the two decided to tie the knot, however, Gambhir kept a condition that he’ll marry only after the 2011 World Cup. Gambhir was playing his first World Cup and he shone, especially in the final at Wankhede against Sri Lanka. Gambhir was the highest run-scorer. Soon after that, the couple tied the knot on October 29, 2011 in traditional Punjabi wedding.
Gambhir and Natasha’s wedding took place in Gurgaon farmhouse and was a low-key affair. There were only 100 people invited for the ceremony. At present, Gautam and Natasha are doting parents to two beautiful girls, Aazeen and Anaiza.
