Kurla’s reserved park land row: Shiv Sena takes U-turn with its own decision

Mumbai: The Opposition leaders on Friday lost their tempers after learning that Shiv Sena corporator Vishaka Raut approved the proposal for acquisition of Kurla land for garden which was rejected in the last standing committee meeting on November 29. The Opposition leaders claimed there is some nexus between the ruling party and the land owners due to which they approved the rejected proposal.

“Such kind of action of the ruling party shows they want to benefit from the land owners as the proposal which was approved in the improvement committee, was then rejected on Thursday’s Standing Committee and later on Friday, without keeping Opposition leaders informed, Raut clandestinely called a press conference and announced that the land acquisition proposal was accepted.

Opposition leader Ravi Raja blamed Shiv Sena leader Bal Nar, for trying to lapse the time of purchase notice, so that the land owner will get the benefit. Leaders of the Opposition also blamed the BJP government for openly supporting a wrong decision. Shiv Sena leader accepted the proposal for the land reserved for garden in L ward in Kurla, but the leaders of Opposition were not ready for any other topics, demanding a clear reason behind rejection of the proposal on the previous day.

Even the Standing Committee chairman Yashwant Jadhav, said that whatever happened the previous day was in appropriate and said that not even an inch of the land reserved for the garden will be given to anyone else.  Further, leader of opposition, Rakhi Jadav demanded chairman of the meeting to held an inquiry for the people behind this.
