Kerala Floods: Richa Chadha’s ‘Shakeela’ co-actor Rajeev Pillai cancels wedding, joins rescue op in hometown

Malayalam actor Rajeev Pillai has joined countless citizens in rescue operation in flood-hit Kerala. Pillai is helping locals in his hometown, Nannoor and has postponed his wedding. Richa Chadha who will share screen-space with Pillai in upcoming ‘Shakeela’ movie shared his story on Instagram. While sharing the post-Richa wrote, “My friend and costar in Shakeela, Rajeev Pillai, postponed his wedding, which was to happen three days ago, in order to help out in rescue efforts in his hometown of Nannoor, Kerala. They made rafts, carried boats by road to the low lying areas, made good use of all the muscle. Bravo!”

Meanwhile, Rajeev also shared some devastating pictures of the state on Instagram account. Since many days, Kerala, ‘God’s own Country’ is facing the heaviest rains and consequent widespread floods and destruction since 1924. Talking about Rajveev, the actor is reportedly engaged to engineering student Ajitha and also had planned an intimate wedding ceremony with some 10 guests.

There are other celebs too who have come forward to help in any way they cab in the destructive floods. Recently, Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Dulquer Salmaan and Jacqueline Fernandez also made their contributions towards Kerala relief fund.
