JAMMU: An Army captain and four jawans died on Sunday in shelling by Pakistan along the Line of Control in Kashmir’s Rajouri district. The shelling took place in Bhimber Gali sector, on a day a 15-year-old girl was injured as Pakistan intensified firing at Indian military posts and villages along the LoC in Poonch and Rajouri districts.
The deceased were identified as Captain Kapil Kundu, riflemen Ram Avtar and Subham Singh; and Havildar Roshan Lal. The injured jawan was identified as Lance Naik Iqbal Ahmed. The Indian Army retaliated strongly and effectively and heavy damage was inflicted on a Pakistani army post, said a statement. The report of Indian casualties comes a day after Home Minister Rajnath Singh said forces have been ordered to fire “limitless bullets” in retaliation if there is any ceasefire violation by Pakistan. “I have given standing orders to our forces to shoot limitless bullets to retaliate a single fire on our territory by the Pakistani forces,” he had said at an election rally.
