Indore: After the brief spell of cold conditions, temperature in city again shot up and was recorded one degree Celsius above the normal fluctuation in day and night both, on Sunday.

The heavy snowfall in northern part of the country and the change in wind pattern had pulled the temperature down and forced the denizens to wrap themselves in warm clothes.

However, the cold waves couldn’t reel the city for long as the wind pattern changed back to south east/west direction from the north/north east direction. The temperature was hovering around 23-24 degrees Celsius in last few days but it has been increased to 29.4 degrees Celsius recorded on Sunday.

The night temperature too saw an increase by two degrees Celsius, one degree Celsius above the normal, and was recorded at 10.4 degrees Celsius.

According to meteorological department officials, there is an uncertainty over the temperature in next few days as it all depends on the wind pattern.

“Cold waves were blowing across the region for last few days as the northern part of the country had witnessed heavy snowfall and the winds were blowing from northern direction. Now, the winds have changed the direction and the city has been witnessing winds from south direction,” met officials said.

They added, “At present, it seems that the weather will remain same and there are chances of increase in temperature in coming days. However, it may be decreased if the wind pattern changes again.”
