Indore: City crime branch on Thursday arrested two persons for stealing electric poles from a site in Simrol area. They were planning to sell the poles in some other site.

One Ravindra Yadav of Nyay Nagar had lodged a complaint with Simrol police that he is a contractor of MP Electricity Board and he installs electric pole for the board. At present installation of poles is in progress in Simrol, Betma, Depalpur and Sanwer. He noticed that 30 electric poles worth Rs 6 lakh are missing from Simrol site and he informed police.

A team of crime branch was formed by senior officials to trace the thief of electric pole. When the team started investigation and detained Rajdeep Chauhan of Nagin Nagar and Nitesh Goyal of Vyankatesh Nagar following a lead given by some informers.

The duo told police that they are also contractors for supplying electric poles and connection wires and they have stolen electric poles from Simrol area with the help of their aide Shahzad alias Cheena Khan of Chandan Nagar.

Shahzad was earlier booked for thefts by different police station. Rajdeep and Nitesh contacted Shahzad and prepared plan for stealing electric poles. As per plan they stole electric poles and hid them in deserted area between Kalakund and Patalpani which were later recovered by crime branch. The accused are being questioned for other such crimes and launched a search for their aide Shahzad.
